PA PM Mustafa: The losses caused by Israel may be the largest since the 2002 invasion
Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa stressed that these sacrifices and losses caused by the attacks of the occupation army, especially in the infrastructure, may be the largest and most extensive since the occupation invaded the Palestinian cities in 2002, but we will rebuild them, and these attacks will only serve as a lever for further determination to build our independent national institutions and support the steadfastness of our people.
He said in his speech at the beginning of the Cabinet session, today, Tuesday, "The government will not hesitate, with the support and guidance of President Mahmoud Abbas, to provide everything possible to serve our people in both parts of the homeland."
He added: "While the occupation continues its aggression and crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip for 11 months in front of the eyes and ears of the world, it also continues to target the governorates of the West Bank, especially the northern ones, causing great destruction and devastation to property and infrastructure, and huge losses in lives amidst raids and sieges on hospitals and medical centers."
He continued: As indicated by the previous government statements, and the outcome of the government emergency committee meeting yesterday, all institutions and technical teams of the government and other national institutions are working as circumstances permit to rehabilitate and operate the infrastructure destroyed by the occupation army, including roads, water, sewage and electricity networks, in addition to supplying the necessary materials to repair them as quickly as possible, in conjunction with sheltering families whose homes were damaged or were forced to evacuate by the occupation.
He said that our national and civil institutions in Tulkarm worked during the past few days and in less than 48 hours to reopen most of the roads that were destroyed by the occupation, to deliver the largest part of electricity services to the affected areas, and to repair the water lines. However, with the occupation re-invading the city yesterday, everything that was repaired was destroyed for the fourth time in less than a month. Nevertheless, we will repair it again and strengthen the steadfastness of our people.
He added that the government continues, in addition to field interventions on the ground, its international contacts with international organizations and various countries to pressure towards stopping the aggression and holding the occupation accountable for its crimes against our people.
The Prime Minister praised all government staff, especially the medical staff who are working to serve our people, and the Doctors Syndicate, medical and health unions, and services that responded to the urgent national call issued by the Ministry of Health for everyone to engage in the sacred duty of supporting the steadfastness of our people.
He stressed that today, more than ever, we need to raise awareness and vigilance against the plans of the extremist right-wing occupation government, which does not hide its plans and systematic policies to destroy the capabilities of our people and displace them, and undermine the chances of embodying our independent Palestinian state on the ground, considering that awareness and acting wisely, along with serious work, will contribute to thwarting the opportunity for the occupation, and for our people to remain steadfast in their land.
