UN: Israel refused to supply fuel to Gaza hospitals

The United Nations said that Israel has rejected requests to supply fuel to hospitals operating in northern Gaza five times over the past week.

This came in a press conference by the spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Stephane Dujarric, in which he explained that some hospitals in northern Gaza have remained without new fuel supplies for more than 10 days.

He pointed out that there is a large overcrowding of refugees in southern Gaza, due to the ongoing Israeli evacuation decisions.

In another context, he pointed out that efforts are continuing to appoint and train more than 1,000 health workers and volunteers in 11 health centers in the region for polio vaccinations.

He said that in the first round of the vaccination campaign, they aim to reach at least 95% of the more than 640,000 children under the age of 10 in Gaza.
