Israel claims that the bodies of the detainees recovered from Gaza bear traces of gunshot wounds
The Israeli occupation army claimed that the bodies of the six detainees that were announced to have been recovered from a tunnel in the Gaza Strip earlier this week had gunshot wounds. The occupation army also said that it is investigating the circumstances of their deaths in the Gaza Strip.
Last Tuesday, the occupation army announced the recovery of the bodies of five detainees who had been previously declared dead in recent months. They are Alex Danzig, Haim Perry, Yagiv Boshtab, Yoram Metzger, and Nadav Popplewell, in addition to the body of Abraham Munder, whose death was announced by Kibbutz Nir Oz on the same day.
An army spokesman said Thursday that the necessary tests had been conducted and "bullet wounds were found in the bodies of the six detainees" that were recovered from a site in the Khan Yunis area in the southern Gaza Strip, according to him. "The investigation into the circumstances of their deaths is ongoing," the spokesman added.
Army spokesman Daniel Hagari said Tuesday evening that the detainees "were killed during military operations carried out by the IDF in Khan Younis." He added that "an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of their deaths," and that the results will be presented "to the families and to the public."
