Details of Netanyahu-Blinken meeting in Tel Aviv
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said his three-hour meeting with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken was "positive and took place in a good atmosphere."
"The prime minister stressed Tel Aviv's commitment to the latest American proposal regarding the release of detainees, taking into account the security needs that Netanyahu strongly emphasized," the office statement added.
For his part, the spokesman for the Israeli occupation government confirmed that the negotiating team insisted on keeping the forces on the Philadelphi axis while fully committing to the talks.
Blinken considered that the ongoing negotiations on a truce in the Gaza Strip are perhaps the last chance to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, in light of the aggression continuing for more than ten months.
He pointed out that Washington is working to ensure that there is no escalation in the region amid fears of a possible Iranian attack on the occupying entity, in response to the assassination of the head of the political bureau of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran.
