Hamas and Palestinian factions: The "day after" the war is a purely Palestinian affair

Several Palestinian factions, including Hamas, the Palestinian Resistance Committees, the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement, and the Palestinian Free Movement, held a national meeting in the Gaza Strip to discuss political and field developments in light of the ongoing war of genocide waged by Israel against the Palestinian people for more than 313 days.

The meeting, according to a joint statement circulated by Hamas on its official Telegram page on Wednesday, addressed several major issues, including forced displacement, the Judaization of Jerusalem, and settlement expansion in the West Bank, in addition to the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Iran.

The factions stressed the continuation of resistance in all its forms and their ability to confront the Israeli occupation, while praising the speed of the Hamas movement in completing the process of selecting Yahya Sinwar as head of its political bureau, succeeding Ismail Haniyeh. The factions also stressed the need to commit to implementing the agreements with the mediators to achieve a comprehensive cessation of aggression and break the siege.

The statement said, "We emphasize our firm position on the negotiations issued by the resistance leadership on the necessity of examining mechanisms for implementing what was agreed upon in the framework papers submitted by the mediators, which achieve a comprehensive cessation of aggression, a complete withdrawal of the occupation, breaking the siege, opening the crossings, reconstruction, and achieving a serious deal to exchange prisoners."

The factions called for urgent action to stop the war on Gaza and protect Jerusalem, while praising the resistance operations in the West Bank and Jerusalem, and calling on the people to protect the resistance and support the resistance fighters in all Palestinian cities and camps. They also stressed the need to reform the Palestinian political system and the Palestine Liberation Organization; "so that it includes all national components; to be able to achieve the hopes and aspirations of our people for freedom and a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."

She stressed that "the so-called day after the war is a purely Palestinian national affair, to be discussed in a roundtable by all Palestinian nationalists only, and that all attempts by the occupation, the American administration and their allies to create alternative wills have been shattered by the steadfastness of our people and the bravery of our resistance, and that any attempts by any party seeking to be a docile tool in the hands of the occupation and an alternative to the will of the Palestinian people will be treated as the Zionist enemy."

The statement said that this comes "as the occupation's plans continue to seek to displace the Palestinian people through a continuous Nazi terrorist aggression on the Gaza Strip, the Judaization of Jerusalem, and the occupation's religious and geographical control in time and place over the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which witnessed yesterday the largest storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards by extremists and settler gangs in the presence of terrorist leaders from the ministers of the Nazi occupation government, the expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank, the practice of racial discrimination against our people in the occupied interior, and the ongoing fascist torture of our imprisoned brothers; the killing of the sons of the Palestinian people and the assassination of the leaders of the Palestinian resistance, the latest of which was the assassination of the great national leader, the martyr: Ismail Haniyeh."
