Government media in Gaza: More than 1,000 children killed and injured due to the occupation's closure of the Rafah crossing

The Government Media Office in Gaza announced today, Wednesday, the death of more than 1,000 children and the injury of others, as a result of the occupation’s closure of the Rafah crossing.

The Government Media Office said that after 100 days of the Israeli occupation army closing the Rafah border crossing, this closure has caused the death of more than 1,000 children, patients and wounded people, and the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip is deepening on all levels.

100 days since the closure of Rafah crossing

The media office explained that the occupation army continues to close the Rafah border crossing between Palestine and Egypt for the 100th consecutive day after burning it, bulldozing it and taking it out of service. This comes in conjunction with the unprecedented deepening of the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip at all levels and aspects of life, stressing that this crime is a clear legal violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and all international agreements.

It pointed out that the occupation prevents the entry of all types of aid into the Gaza Strip, as it prevents the entry of medical supplies and health delegations, as well as the entry of medicines and treatments, and prevents the entry of various types of aid, which has contributed to the serious aggravation of the health and humanitarian situation, which clearly shows the occupation's intention to collapse the health system and put hospitals out of service, and shows the occupation's use of the starvation policy as a tool for political pressure, which deepens the famine, especially in the Gaza and North Gaza governorates.

Death of more than 1000 children and patients

The Government Media Office pointed out that the occupation prevented the travel of 25 thousand patients and wounded who had travel requests and referrals for treatment abroad, and because of this prevention, more than 1000 children, patients and wounded died within 100 days, and the lives of the rest are threatened with death due to the occupation’s inhumane and immoral policy of preventing them from traveling to receive treatment.

The office condemned the occupation army's continued closure of the Rafah border crossing between Palestine and Egypt, calling on the international community and all countries of the world to condemn this crime that violates international law.

The Government Media Office in Gaza held the occupation and the American administration fully responsible for the serious repercussions of closing the Rafah crossing, preventing the entry of medical supplies and health delegations, and preventing the entry of aid. It also held them responsible for the humanitarian catastrophe that claimed the lives of more than 1,000 children, patients, and wounded people in 100 days, as well as throughout the days of the comprehensive genocidal war that has been ongoing for the eleventh consecutive month.

The office called on the international community, international and UN organizations, and all countries of the free world to pressure the occupation and the US administration to stop the war of genocide, and to pressure to open the Rafah border crossing and stop this serious humanitarian disaster.

The occupation continues its bombing of various areas of the Gaza Strip for the 313th day, leaving hundreds of martyrs and wounded. The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced today, Monday, that the death toll from the Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7th has risen to 39,965 martyrs, most of them women and children, and 92,294 wounded.

The ministry said in a statement that the occupation committed, during the past 24 hours, two massacres against entire families in the Gaza Strip, killing 36 martyrs and wounding 54. The ministry added that there are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the roads, and the occupation is preventing ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching them.
