West Bank: Israeli settlers bulldoze lands and uproot olive trees east of Salfit
Settlers bulldozed lands and uprooted olive trees in the village of Yasuf, east of Salfit.
Head of Yasuf Village Council Wael Abu Madi said on Sunday that settlers, under the protection of the occupation forces, bulldozed about six dunams in the “Al-Sarab” area located between the villages of Yasuf and Iskaka, and uprooted about 100 olive trees, aged between 50-60 years, in favor of expanding the “Novi Hamaya” settlement, which was built on citizens’ lands, in the southern part of the village.
Abu Madi added that the lands that were bulldozed are owned by citizens of the village, including the brothers Abdullah, Ahmed, and Hanan Mustafa Al-Abd and their relatives living abroad, and the brothers Ziad and Zuhair Jamil Abdul Razzaq, noting that the area is about 100 meters away from the citizens’ homes.
It is noteworthy that the village of Yasuf is exposed to repeated attacks by settlers, and the occupation forces and settlers continue to close its eastern entrance with an iron gate.
