Egyptian and Jordanian condemnation of the occupation massacre in Gaza

Egypt and Jordan condemned, on Saturday, the new Israeli occupation massacre of bombing the Tabeen School in Gaza City, which led to the martyrdom of more than 100 Palestinians.

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stressed that the continued attacks against civilians in the Gaza Strip are an unprecedented disregard for the provisions of international law and international humanitarian law.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called in a statement issued today, Saturday, for a unified and effective international position that provides protection for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and puts an end to the series of targeting of defenseless civilians.

Egypt considered that the continued commission of these large-scale crimes, and the deliberate killing of these huge numbers of unarmed civilians, especially whenever the mediators' efforts intensified to try to reach a formula for a ceasefire in the Strip, is conclusive evidence of the absence of political will on the part of the Israeli side to end this fierce war, and an insistence on the continuation of the human suffering of the Palestinians under the weight of an international humanitarian catastrophe that the world is unable to put an end to.

She stressed that she will continue her diplomatic efforts and endeavors, and her intensive contacts with all influential parties internationally, to ensure the access of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip by all means and methods, and to work to reach a ceasefire, no matter the hardships she endures or the obstacles she faces.

The Jordanian Foreign Ministry considered this a flagrant violation of international law and an attempt to systematically target civilians and displaced persons shelters.

The official spokesman for the Ministry, Ambassador Dr. Sufyan Al-Qudah, stressed the Kingdom’s absolute condemnation and denunciation of Israel’s continued violations of international law and international humanitarian law, in light of the absence of a firm international position that curbs Israeli aggression and forces it to respect international law and stop its aggression on Gaza, and the resulting killing, destruction and unprecedented humanitarian disaster.

Ambassador Al-Qudah said that this targeting, which comes at a time when mediators are seeking to resume negotiations on a prisoner exchange deal that will lead to a permanent ceasefire, is an indication of the Israeli government's efforts to obstruct and thwart these efforts.

Ambassador Al-Qudah stressed, in light of the Israeli government’s persistence in its systematic violations of international law, the need for the international community, especially the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities to immediately stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza, stop the ongoing and continuous Israeli violations of international law, and hold those responsible accountable.
