What if you expanded the circle of assassination?
Typically, Israeli decision-makers (assassination approach) give priority to tactical considerations and the immediate short-term gains achieved by these assassinations, especially if they are a show-off for an easy target. However, considering the broader strategic context and the lessons of history, these assassinations often have negative strategic effects on the occupation; because the justice and injustice of the Palestinian cause and the existence of a popular incubator for the resistance; lead to the transformation of the assassinated leaders into symbols of the struggle, and they constantly push for the renewal of the blood and vigour of the resistance.
Early on, the US Secretary of "War" (Lloyd Austin) warned the Israeli leadership of the danger of "winning the war tactically and losing it strategically" after the events of October 7. When the Israeli occupation commits the collective or individual crimes it commits, it creates a generation of revenge, a generation that has before its eyes the scenes of aggression, martyrs and destruction, a generation that will not know the path to fear and the flame of the homeland has not and will not be extinguished in it, and its psychology has been formed on revenge and retaliation against the occupier, a generation charged with certain injustice that expresses itself through more struggle. Those who lost their sons, loved ones, families and properties inside the Gaza Strip and the cities, villages and camps of Palestine cannot forgive or tolerate, no matter how long it takes, and no matter how severe the occupier's crimes. This "congestion" is the "energy of injustice" that prepares their mentality for a devastating war of revenge, no matter how long it takes! When the occupation authorities continue their policies based on killing, assassinations, arrests, executions, colonial/settlement expansion, and denial of the national rights of the Palestinian people, all of this constitutes a source of violence. So what will be required of the Palestinian people (in the face of these brutal policies and measures) other than resistance and valiant defense of themselves and their sanctities?!
When the confrontation takes on a religious dimension (as is happening now), the conviction increases that the battles have never been and will never be decided by military capabilities! The devil's alliance, which relies on the world's most powerful weapons and believes that it has seized control of humanity, is betting on the weak and feeble devil's trickery. While they are betting on their weapons, armies, aircraft, warships and allies, the oppressed and targeted peoples are betting on the human element that believes in its land and religion, which makes man the greatest tool of resistance throughout history. In the past, the Muslim leader used to terrify his enemies with the message: "I have come to you with men who love death as you love life!" While the most that can be used to frighten a person is killing, what if the person in front of you does not care about death from colonial injustice, but rather sees in death comfort and enjoyment in heaven, and a meeting with loved ones?!
The resistance was created to be a stubborn wall of defense, receiving painful, even deadly blows, in which the best leaders perish, and sometimes pay a heavy price in the blood of their sons and grandchildren and the sacrifices of their families to build a future for all. In the experiences of history, the resistance is not shaken by the fall of martyrs because martyrs were created to depart, but the target is the morale of the Arab peoples to push them to despair and surrender (“cauterize consciousness” in the Israeli phrase), but they will never achieve what they aspire to.
If the occupation intended to burn the nerves or subjugate the martyr (Haniyeh or others from the thousands who preceded him or will follow him), it failed to subjugate him and his family, children and grandchildren who preceded him, and whose martyrdom he saw as badges of honor that would increase his strength and determination to continue on the path. And now the war of nerves has reached its goal and peak in the martyrdom he requested and achieved... whether for religious, nationalistic or other reasons. Didn't you send him to the committee (according to religious or national beliefs)? The blood of the martyr is nothing but the seed that grows freedom and dignity, and that resistance is the only path to liberation. For a long time, the resistance fighter has inflamed our feelings with his martyrdom, regardless of his background, and ignited the flame of thinking in the new generations about the reality of the existential struggle with the occupation, and opened a door that will not be closed for them in this struggle in the inevitability of victory that the martyrs believed in and paid their lives for.
Yes, thousands of martyrs have departed, and every day one or more martyrs depart, but the spirit of each of them will remain present in every corner of Palestine, lighting the way and planting in us hope for victory and freedom. It is time for the occupying state to realize that no one can turn a blind eye to the injustice of the Palestinian people, whose cause is the core of the conflict in the region. Now that the martyr has found his answers... what about us..?
