US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced additional measures to defend the Israeli occupation and moves to adjust the position of US forces in the region.

These statements came during a phone call Austin made with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Galant, where they discussed the threats from Iran and Hezbollah.

Austin explained that he informed Galant of these additional measures to strengthen the occupation's defenses.

He also stressed that further escalation is not inevitable, stressing that all parties will benefit from reducing tensions, including completing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
