Satellite-powered phones for Israeli ministers

All Israeli government ministers have been given satellite phones, fearing that Iran and Hezbollah could damage the communications infrastructure, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Friday.

Israel continues to be on high alert in preparation for a possible Iranian response after the assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran, and Hezbollah leader Fouad Shukr, who was killed in an Israeli raid on the southern suburb of Beirut, in addition to the Israeli announcement of the killing of Hamas leader Mohammed Deif.

The Israeli General Security Service issued "unusual" security instructions to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and government ministers, in preparation for an Iranian response.

According to Israel's Channel 12, any participation by Netanyahu and Israeli ministers in a public event requires a "protected space," within the framework of the instructions provided.

The head of the Israeli General Security Service (Shabak), Ronen Bar, also issued a direct order stating that “every tour undertaken by the Prime Minister and the ministers requires his personal approval.”

Iranian statements continued, threatening revenge against Israel in response to these operations, in conjunction with threats issued by officials responsible for Tehran’s arms in the region.
