Haniyeh's assassination...a heinous Israeli crime

The Israeli war on our Palestinian people enters its 300th day today, in an open bloody scene, in which the occupation system continues its horrific massacres and its non-stop crimes against humanity, the latest of which is the heinous assassination crime that targeted the head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, leader Ismail Haniyeh, in the heart of the Iranian capital, Tehran.

With this heinous crime, Israel has crossed all red lines and violated the resistance arenas inside and outside, just hours after the assassination of Hezbollah’s Chief of Staff and the party’s second man, the Mujahid leader Fouad Shukr, whose martyrdom was officially announced by the party the day before yesterday following an Israeli raid that targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut. Israel continues its series of killings and assassinations deep inside Arab and Islamic countries, most notably Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Iran, in addition to its massacres in the Gaza Strip, and its motto is that there is no sanctity or immunity for Arabs and Muslims.

The assassination of Haniyeh is considered the most influential since the assassination of the founder of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) twenty years ago. Although it will leave a vacuum in the political arena and the external window from which Haniyeh appears, the resistance has proven its ability to produce more glowing leaders emanating from the depths of Palestinian pride, to carry the message of defending the homeland and raise the slogan of resistance and striving to achieve national unity with strength.

Israel assassinated a symbol of the Palestinian people, the leader who grew up in the Beach Camp, to live the story of the Palestinian camps, after his parents were displaced from Ashkelon after the Nakba of 1948, and he was imprisoned in 1989 for three years and Israel deported him to Marj al-Zuhur for a whole year with a group of leaders, to return from exile and assume responsibility for leading the office of Sheikh and preacher Ahmed Yassin, and was appointed Dean of the Islamic University in Gaza, and headed the Change and Reform List that won the legislative elections in 2006 and remained Prime Minister for a year and as head of the dismissed government until 2014, and assumed the presidency of the Political Bureau of the Hamas movement after his election in May 2017, succeeding the leader Khaled Meshaal, and directed the Hamas movement and led it with distinction and was subjected to an assassination attempt in an Israeli raid targeting the leadership of Hamas, and was wounded in his hand as a result in 2003, and was one of the most influential in the Battle of the Flood of Al-Aqsa, and remained a main axis in the strategic negotiations to end the war, and lift the aggression against our Palestinian people, with a national mentality par excellence that rejects Submission to Israel and continuing the struggle to achieve our legitimate goals, until dawn broke yesterday, Wednesday, for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard to announce the assassination of Haniyeh in Tehran, and for the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) to issue a statement in which it said that it mourns to the sons of our great Palestinian people, to the Arab and Islamic nation, and to all the free people of the world: the brother, leader, martyr, Mujahid Ismail Haniyeh, head of the movement, who was killed as a result of a treacherous Zionist raid on his residence in Tehran, which President Mahmoud Abbas considered a cowardly and dangerous act amidst numerous Palestinian, Arab, Islamic and international condemnations denouncing this heinous crime and demanding that Israel be punished and curbed.

His most famous quote was: (We are a people who love death as our enemies love life. We love martyrdom for what our leaders died for), thus joining as martyrs all the leaders who preceded him, foremost among them the immortal leader Yasser Arafat, the great Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, the Mujahid Fathi Shaqaqi, the leader Abu Ali Mustafa and all the symbols who were martyred while defending the cause of a people whose sons have been subjected to a continuous war of revenge and killing since the beginning of the occupation.

The Palestinian people's calendar does not accommodate statements of condemnation, denunciation and denunciation, in light of this blatant Israeli disregard for the violation of the sanctity of Palestinian blood, and the terrible Arab silence. Actual steps must be taken on the ground to compel the occupying entity to stop its crimes, massacres and slaughters against the Palestinian people, their leaders and symbols.
