Netanyahu meets Biden on Tuesday in Washington
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced on Sunday that he will meet with US President Joe Biden in Washington the day after tomorrow, Tuesday, and it is expected that the ceasefire in Gaza will be among the main issues in the talks between them.
Netanyahu's office said - in a statement - that the latter will deliver a speech in the US Congress next Wednesday.
According to the statement, the Israeli Prime Minister is scheduled to head to the American capital tomorrow morning, Monday, after the trip was scheduled for Sunday evening.
Netanyahu's visit to Washington comes as the US administration says that negotiations aimed at concluding a deal that includes a prisoner exchange between Israel and the Palestinian resistance, and a ceasefire in Gaza, have made significant progress.
The Israeli Prime Minister is under pressure even from within his government to speed up the conclusion of the deal, and according to the Israeli Walla website, Netanyahu decided to hold a meeting with the negotiating team hours before his travel to the United States.
Although the US administration has provided significant political and military support to Israel since the start of its war on Gaza on October 7, reports indicated tense relations between Biden and Netanyahu.
