UNRWA: The smell of blood wafts through the Nasser Medical Complex, with ventilation disrupted

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Monday that the Nasser Medical Complex in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Strip, was subjected to an Israeli artillery shelling last night, resulting in the death of a child.

The ministry said in a brief statement via Telegram that the child, Donia Abu Mohsen (13 years old), “was killed after targeting the maternity building in the medical complex.”

She added: "Today, Dounia was killed, and she joined all her family after the maternity building in the Nasser Medical Complex was targeted."

According to the Palestinian Ministry, the little girl, Dunia, lost her parents and all her brothers in the war, and was left alone after her lower limbs were amputated, before she joined them after the Israeli forces targeted the Nasser Medical Complex.

The Ministry had previously called for the provision of prosthetic limbs to the child before her death, in the hope of providing her with a life that “appears normal.”

Earlier, the Ministry published, via its Telegram account, pictures of the effects of destruction in the “Nasser Medical Complex” in Khan Yunis, announcing that it had been subjected to “Israeli army artillery shelling last night.”

The pictures show the extent of the destruction caused by the bombing in the hospital facilities, including the collapse of the wall of one of the hospital rooms, and the destruction of the contents of some rooms, including beds and medical equipment.

The Palestinian News Agency, Wafa, reported this morning about “the death of a woman and the injury of others” in the Israeli bombing of the medical complex on Sunday evening.

The agency quoted local sources as saying, "An injured citizen who was receiving treatment in the hospital was killed, and others, including women and children, were injured as a result of the occupation artillery targeting a building in the Nasser Medical Complex."
