UNRWA: Destruction and rubble everywhere in the streets of Khan Yunis
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) said on Monday, “The destruction in the streets of the city of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip is widespread, with the remaining buildings hanging by a thread, and huge craters along the roads filled with rubble.”
UNRWA Communications Officer Louise Waterridge, in a post on her account on the “X” platform, described the situation in Khan Yunis, saying: “Everywhere you look, there is destruction.”
“Driving through Khan Yunis today, any remaining buildings are hanging by a thread, huge potholes along the roads filled with rubble, and little hope for those who remain here,” she added.
Waterdridge also highlighted the familiar sight of desperate Palestinian families in Gaza taking shelter in a destroyed UNRWA school.
The Israeli occupation forces have continued their aggression against the Gaza Strip, by land, sea and air, since October 7, 2023, resulting in the death of more than 38,193 citizens, the majority of whom are women and children, and the injury of more than 87,903 others, in an infinite toll, as the toll is still incomplete. Thousands of victims under the rubble.
