Two Egyptian sources said on Sunday that Cairo rejects the entry of any Egyptian forces into the Gaza Strip, and stresses that arranging its conditions after the Israeli war is a Palestinian matter, while denying any approval for moving the Rafah crossing or building a new crossing.
These statements were attributed by the Cairo News Channel to two unnamed sources, at a time when Israel has been waging a war on Gaza since last October 7.
A "high-level" source said, "Egypt has previously informed all parties that the return of detainees and stopping the ongoing military operation in the Gaza Strip must be through an agreement on a permanent ceasefire and the exchange of detainees and prisoners."
