The United States presents a new formulation to establish a truce in Gaza
The American news site Axios reported, on Saturday morning, citing three informed sources, that the United States proposed new wording on parts of the proposed agreement for a ceasefire and the release of prisoners between the Israeli occupation and the Hamas movement, in an effort to conclude the agreement.
The sources explained that the efforts made by the United States in cooperation with the Qatari and Egyptian mediators focus on Article 8 in the proposal, related to the negotiations that are supposed to begin between “Israel” and Hamas during the implementation of the first phase, in order to determine the precise conditions for the second phase of the agreement, which includes reaching... To "sustainable calm" in Gaza.
According to the sources, Hamas wants these negotiations to focus only on the number and identity of Palestinian prisoners who will be released from Israeli prisons for every living Israeli soldier or male detainee in Gaza.
As the humanitarian tragedy continues in Gaza, the Israeli occupation army announced on Friday that it was carrying out operations with air cover in northern Gaza, which it claimed caused the rise of “dozens” of resistance fighters in the Shujaiya neighborhood, which it previously said was now empty of Hamas fighters.
When Operation Shujaiya began on Thursday, witnesses and medics reported that it led to the martyrdom of many civilian victims.
The fighting in northern Gaza was renewed after statements on Sunday by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who stated that the intensity of the “intensive phase” of the Israeli attack on Gaza was declining after about nine months.
