Health in Gaza: A severe medicine shortage threatens the lives of a thousand dialysis patients in the Strip

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip warned on Tuesday of a real threat to the lives of a thousand dialysis patients due to the acute shortage of medicines and medical supplies, as the service provided to them is limited to “palliative treatment.”

It explained that, due to the continued aggression, hospitals and health centers are suffering from a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies necessary to continue providing the necessary medical services to save the lives of patients and injured, whose balance has become zero or is about to run out.

It continued: Among the most prominent medications that are about to run out are reception, emergency, anesthesia, intensive care, operations, and treatments for oncology patients and dialysis.

It called on international and international institutions to quickly intervene and provide the necessary needs of medicines and medical supplies to save the lives of patients and injured people.

Thousands of patients in the Gaza Strip are facing death, as they need to travel and be treated in hospitals abroad, but the closure of the Rafah land crossing with Egypt prevents them from leaving to receive treatment.
