Borrell: Aid was damaged on the border and its entry into Gaza has become almost impossible
The European Union's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, said that last weekend was one of the bloodiest days in Gaza, and that getting aid into the region "has become almost impossible."
Borrell touched on the situation in Gaza during statements to journalists today, Monday, and said that last weekend was one of the bloodiest days, as more than 100 Palestinians lost their lives in the attacks.
Borrell pointed out that bringing aid into Gaza has become almost impossible.
He pointed out that aid is waiting at the border and spoils and much of it is destroyed.
Borrell stated that US President Joe Biden's peace proposal, supported by the European Union, "has not been implemented."
He explained, "The recent statement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu unfortunately confirmed that this plan will not be implemented."
On the other hand, Borrell said that the risk of the impact of this war on southern Lebanon and its spread is increasing day after day, and he expressed his deep concern in this context.
In recent weeks, the intensity of escalation between Tel Aviv and Hezbollah has increased, raising fears of the outbreak of an all-out war, especially with the Israeli army announcing on Tuesday the approval of operational plans for a “massive attack” on Lebanon.
