Confrontations with Israeli army and its settlers: 6 Palestinians were injured in Urif and a house was burned in Burqa

Today, Sunday, 6 people were injured, some of whom were injured by live bullets, during confrontations between residents with the Israeli occupation army and its settlers, in the town of Urif, in the northern occupied West Bank, while settlers set fire to a house in the village of Burqa, north of Nablus.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its ambulance crews dealt with “six injuries during the settlers and occupation forces’ storming of the town of Urif, south of the city of Nablus.”

It stated that among the injuries were "4 with live bullets, one with shrapnel from live bullets, and one with a stone in the hand. All injuries were taken to the hospital."

Before that, the association reported that its crews dealt with “the injury of a 15-year-old child with live bullets in the shoulder during the settlers and occupation forces’ storming of Orif, and the injury of a 20-year-old young man with live bullets in the pelvis, and he is being transported to the hospital.”

In a later statement, the association reported, “The occupation forces detained the ambulance while transporting the injured person to Rafidiya Hospital.”

It stated that its crews also dealt with “the injury of a 22-year-old man with live bullets in the thigh, and the injury of a 20-year-old man with bullet fragments throughout the body.”

Settlers, under the protection of the occupation forces, attacked the house of Issam Al-Safadi and burned a vehicle. The people of Orif rose to respond to the attack, which led to the outbreak of confrontations, during which the occupation soldiers fired live bullets, wounding a number of people, according to the official Palestinian news agency, Wafa.

This evening, settlers burned a house in the village of Burqa, northwest of Nablus. The head of the Barqa Village Council, Dirar Abu Omar, reported that settlers from “Homesh” stormed the outskirts of the village and attacked the house of Raed Yassin Hajjah with Molotov cocktails, causing parts of it to burn, before the villagers were able to put out the fire.

Abu Omar added that settlers have been carrying out attacks on citizens’ lands since this afternoon, by setting fire to rubber tires and attempting to attack homes in the northern and eastern areas of the village.

Also this evening, settlers burned agricultural lands in the village of Burqa.

Local sources reported that “Homesh” settlers, protected by the Israeli occupation forces, threw burning tires towards citizens’ homes in the “Al-Manshara” and “Al-Hawoz” areas north of the village, which led to the burning of agricultural lands.

Settlers storm a Bedouin community northwest of Jericho

Today, Sunday, settlers stormed a Bedouin community northwest of Jericho.

The general supervisor of the "Al-Baidar" organization for defending Bedouin rights, Hassan Mlihat, reported that a number of settlers stormed the Mlihat Arab community, and carried out searches and vandalism in three residences.

During last May, settlers carried out 221 attacks against Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, according to a monthly report by the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission.

In conjunction with its devastating war on the Gaza Strip, since October 7, the Israeli army expanded its operations in the West Bank and Jerusalem, while settlers intensified their attacks, which led to the death of 531 Palestinians and the wounding of about 5,200, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

While the Israeli war on Gaza left nearly 121,000 martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues this war, ignoring a Security Council resolution calling for it to stop immediately, and orders from the Court of Justice to stop its attack on the city of Rafah, south of Gaza, and to take immediate measures to prevent acts of “genocide” and “improve the humanitarian situation” in the Strip.
