Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday vowed to provide weapons to third countries that would be used to attack Western interests, if the West allowed Ukraine to strike Russia with long-range missiles.

Putin said during his meeting with representatives of foreign news agencies: “If someone believes that similar weapons can be presented in the battle zone to strike our lands, why do we not have the right to send our weapons of the same type to regions in the world where strikes are directed at sensitive installations belonging to countries that are moving against Russia?".

Putin warned Germany that Ukraine's use of its weapons to strike targets inside Russia would be a "dangerous step" and would destroy relations between Berlin and Moscow.

The following are the highlights of Putin’s statements about the West’s supply of weapons to Ukraine:

Putin considered that providing weapons by the West to Ukraine would further undermine international security.

“This would represent their direct participation in the war against the Russian Federation, and we reserve the right to act in the same way,” Putin added.

- The delivery of German tanks to Ukraine came as a shock to many in Russia.

- Now, if they use missiles to hit facilities on Russian territory, this will completely destroy Russian-German relations.

We urge countries not to obstruct the peace process in Ukraine.

- I told Biden that if you want to stop the war in Ukraine, you must stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.

- If the West allows Ukraine to strike Russia with high-tech long-range missiles such as Storm Shadow missiles or Atakhams, Russia will strengthen its air defenses.

- If Western leaders can find the courage to represent the interests of their people, it will be possible to find solutions to complex issues with them.

Putin touched on the international situation and the possibility of a nuclear conflict, saying:

The world must be multipolar and monopoly must end.

The West believes that Russia will never use such (nuclear) weapons, but Russia can use all means to defend itself if its sovereignty and territorial integrity are threatened.

- Let's not push things to the level of threatening to use nuclear weapons.

- We do not wave the nuclear threat.

-The United States does not want Russia to succeed in any field.

Regarding the Middle East file and Russia’s role in it, Putin said:

• It would be right for Russia and the United States to reach an agreement on the Middle East.

• No power should attempt to monopolize the search for peace in the Middle East.

• Russia is trying to contribute to efforts to bring peace to the Middle East.

• Russia is able to contribute to efforts to bring peace to the Middle East.

• The United States must also play a major role in achieving peace in the Middle East.

• The main role in peace in the Middle East must be played by the countries of the region.

• There is hope for establishing a Palestinian state. There will be no peace in the region without the establishment of a Palestinian state.

• What is currently happening in Gaza in response to the terrorist attack on Israel does not resemble a war at all. It amounts to the complete annihilation of the civilian population.
