36 Palestinians from Gaza have been killed in Israeli detention centers since October 7

The Associated Press quoted an Israeli army statement as saying that 36 people from the Gaza Strip have died in Israeli detention centers since last October 7.

Last week, the Israeli Supreme Court held a first session to consider the petition submitted by the General Committee against Torture in Israel, Physicians for Human Rights, HaMoked, the Center for the Defense of the Individual, the Maslak Association, and the Adalah Center, against the amendments proposed to what is known as the Unlawful Combatants Law. .

The Palestinian Prisoner's Club said that the series of international investigations and press reports that were recently published regarding the crimes and atrocities committed by the occupation army against detainees in the Sde Teman camp, specifically with regard to the facility where the sick and wounded are held, the most recent of which was an AP report that clearly indicated, with admission The occupation army martyred 36 Gaza detainees in its camps, which are only one station called (Sde Teman), in addition to the presence of other prisons and camps in which detainees from Gaza are held, and there is not sufficient information available about the conditions of their detention, including the (Anatot, Ofer prison, and others) camp. ).

The Prisoners' Club added that these escalating data come as the occupation continues to refuse to disclose all data related to Gaza detainees and their places of detention, including the identities of those who were martyred in its camps.

The Prisoner's Club explained that the issue of Gaza detainees today represents the greatest challenge to human rights institutions, in light of the severe measures and restrictions imposed by the occupation on them, its practice of the crime of forced disappearance, and the subjugation of the law for this purpose, especially since the time factor and the passage of a longer period of time since their continued detention in camps without Allowing international bodies, including the International Committee of the Red Cross, to be informed of the conditions of their detention. All of these reasons will constitute essential factors in the increase in the number of martyrs among their ranks.

The Prisoner's Club stated that the main evidence in this case is the testimonies of the released detainees, which some human rights institutions were able to collect in difficult and complex circumstances, and the pictures of dozens of them had spoken before their testimonies about the level of torture crimes that were practiced against them, and some of them had cases that came out having been subjected to amputations. In the parties as a result.

The Prisoners' Club emphasizes that the escalation of talk about the occupation's allegations of its intention to open investigations into the conditions of the Sde Teman camp, as one of several camps and prisons where the occupation authorities hold Gaza detainees, are merely allegations that do not carry any meaning for a system that practices genocide in front of the world. Torture crimes and field executions are carried out in front of the cameras, and in addition to all of this, we affirm that the Israeli judicial system has formed and continues to be an essential pillar in consolidating all the crimes occurring today, including the ongoing crimes against prisoners and detainees.

It is noteworthy that the occupation recently admitted that it arrested at least 4,000 citizens of Gaza, of whom 1,500 detainees were released.
