UNRWA: More than 16 thousand Palestinians live in “miserable conditions”

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the Israeli army's bombing of displaced Palestinians in Rafah is a direct result of Tel Aviv's disregard for the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the UN General Assembly.

Zakharova added, Thursday, during the weekly press briefing: “We call for the immediate implementation of these decisions.”

She explained that the UN resolutions “include a long-term ceasefire, providing the necessary assistance to the (Palestinian people of) Gaza, and creating conditions to transfer efforts to resolve the conflict to the political and diplomatic level.”

Zakharova described the scenes of Israeli massacres coming from the tents of the displaced in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, as "shocking and unfortunate for any normal person."

She expressed her condolences to the relatives of the victims and to the Palestinian government and people, and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.

She pointed out that more than 45 people were martyred in a single Israeli attack out of tens of thousands of martyrs to date, including women and children.
