Israeli Channel 12 said that the US army is using an interception system to protect the floating dock off the coast of Gaza.

It added that the interception system is an American-made Vulcan M61 cannon, which may help protect against drones.

It continued: "It was used in the past in Iraq and other places, and the American army in Gaza uses the same interception system with the aim of protecting the floating dock."

Regarding the nature of this system, the channel explained that it is “a cannon with six nozzles, which fires explosive shells with a diameter of 20 mm, and is installed, among other things, on US Air Force aircraft.”

It  said: "The US Army conducted an experiment in using the system, and so far it has not been used practically."
