Smotrich threatens the ICJ and Ben Gvir calls for an escalation of the war

On Monday, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich threatened the International Criminal Court, while National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir called for ignoring it and escalating the war on the Gaza Strip.

Earlier, the court's prosecutor, Karim Khan, announced on Monday that they are seeking to issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his Defense Minister Yoav Galant, and three leaders of the Hamas movement, on charges of committing "war crimes."

Khan added, in a statement: “We have evidence that Netanyahu and Gallant bear criminal responsibility for “war crimes” in Palestine, including premeditated murder and starvation of civilians.”

Smotrich threatened the international court, and passed it in The Hague, Netherlands, saying on the “X” platform, “The arrest warrants will be the final nail in dismantling this political and anti-Semitic court,” as he claimed.

While Ben Gvir, through “X,” called on both Netanyahu and Gallant to “ignore the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court,” claiming that he is “anti-Semitic,” and stressed the need to escalate the attack on “Hamas.”

While Israeli Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz announced, in a statement, that he immediately ordered the formation of a special committee with the aim of confronting the court’s expected move against Netanyahu and Gallant.
