Gantz: A clear plan must be formulated by June 8 to win the war
Israeli War Council Minister Benny Gantz said on Saturday that a clear and comprehensive plan must be formulated by next June 8 “to win the war, including undermining the rule of the Hamas movement.”
Gantz added in a press conference: “A clear and comprehensive plan must be developed by June 8 to win the war, which includes undermining the rule of the Hamas movement and returning the prisoners detained in the Gaza Strip.”
He added: "What is required is a strategic change, not a waste of time, but the development of an alternative national strategy."
Gantz continued: “Neither Hamas nor Abbas (referring to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas) is in the Gaza Strip. I support the establishment of an Arab-American-Palestinian administration for the Gaza Strip, with Israeli security control.”
Gantz said, “The time has come for decisive decisions,” and addressed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, “If you are ready to do what is necessary by preferring the national path to the personal, we will walk together, and if you prefer the personal path, we will leave the government.”
He continued: "I stand here and say, change is needed. I will work with my colleagues for the change that will lead to real victory."
Minister Gantz pointed out that “fundamental decisions have not been taken by the Israeli government,” noting that “a minority took control of driving the Israeli ship toward the rocks, and a portion of those who sent them to war are dealing with cowardice and irresponsibility.”
He continued: "Things have become managed for political and personal reasons. We will not win the war except when there are strategic goals."
