Poll: 40% of Israelis support military rule in Gaza

A public opinion poll showed that 40% of Israelis support the imposition of Israeli military rule on the Gaza Strip, the day after the war that Israel has been waging for 223 days on the besieged Palestinian Strip. The poll also showed that a party headed by the current Minister of Defense, Yoav Galant, will not have an influence on Likud, and its representation will be at the expense of the “National Camp,” which may favor the right-wing camp.

This came according to what was shown by an Israeli public opinion poll, conducted by Channel 12 and whose results were published yesterday evening, Thursday, through which the Israelis’ attitudes were examined regarding the controversial issues between the Minister of Defense, Gallant, and the Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, regarding the future of Gaza, and especially about who will be entrusted with governance. The sector is civilian. The poll also examined the political map if elections were held today.

The poll concluded that the results of the elections held today will be as follows: “National Camp” - 29 seats; "Likud" - 19; “Yesh Atid” - 16; "Yisrael Beytenu" - 11; "Shas" - 10 seats; Otzma Yehudit - 9 seats; “HaTorah Judaism” - 8; “Arab Front for Change” - 5; "Consolidated List" - 5; “Religious Zionism” - 4; "Meretz" - 4.

In this case, the National Democratic Rally receives 2.5% of the voters’ votes, and both the Labor Party and the “Official Right” party, led by former Minister Gideon Sa’ar, fail to exceed the electoral threshold, so that the first gets 1.8% of the voters’ votes, while the other gets 1.8% of the voters’ votes. 1%. Netanyahu's camp is limited to 50 seats out of 120 in the Knesset.

If Gallant decides to run in the elections on an independent list separate from Likud, the results will be as follows: “National Camp” - 25 seats; "Likud" - 19; “Yesh Atid” - 15; Yisrael Beytenu - 10 seats; "Shas" - 10; "Otzma Yehudit" - 9; “HaTorah Judaism” - 8; Party headed by Galant - 6; ; “Arab Front for Change” - 5; "Consolidated List" - 5; “Religious Zionism” - 4; "Meretz" - 4.

It is noteworthy that all the seats won by the list headed by the current Minister of Defense, Galant, are at the expense of the Zionist centre-left parties, and most of them are at the expense of the “National Camp” party headed by the Minister in the Israeli War Cabinet, Benny Gantz.
