Haaretz: Hamas is rehabilitating its capabilities very quickly and has recently changed its tactics

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz said that the Hamas movement is rapidly restoring its capabilities and re-establishing itself again in other areas of Gaza.

The newspaper quoted a senior Israeli officer - whose identity was not revealed - as saying that Israel is in an "educational war with Hamas" because the latter has recently changed its war tactics and is focusing more on booby-trapping buildings.

The newspaper affiliated with the Israeli left added that the recent operations in the Zaytoun neighborhood and other areas showed that the army’s estimates are not correct regarding Hamas’ infrastructure.

Haaretz also confirmed that the majority of soldiers in the Israeli army believe that the military operation launched by the army in Jabalia is absurd.

Bringing life

Earlier on Tuesday, the American Politico website quoted officials as saying, “It is possible to disrupt Hamas, but the things that enable it to form, develop, and grow are still in place.”

The website said that it spoke to 4 American officials who said they agreed with the opinion that Israel is unlikely to achieve complete victory in Gaza, and that the current Israeli operations in Gaza are breathing life into the Hamas movement.

The past few days have witnessed a clear escalation in operations launched by the Palestinian resistance led by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, in various areas of the Gaza Strip, following Israel’s obstruction of a prisoner exchange deal proposed by the mediators and approved by Hamas.

According to Anatolia Agency, Israel announced the killing of 620 of its soldiers as of yesterday, Tuesday, and the wounding of 3,456, since the start of the war on Gaza, which has entered its eighth month, according to army data, which faces local accusations of concealing a much larger toll of its dead and wounded.

The Israeli war on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has left more than 114,000 dead and wounded - most of them children and women - and about 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.

Israel continues the war despite the issuance of a resolution by the UN Security Council to stop the fighting immediately, and also despite the International Court of Justice demanding immediate measures to prevent acts of genocide and improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza.
