Intense Israeli bombing of towns in southern Lebanon

On Wednesday, the Israeli occupation army intensified its bombing of towns in southern Lebanon, resulting in casualties, as part of a new round of daily confrontations with Hezbollah since October 8, 2023, according to official Lebanese media.

The official Lebanese News Agency said, "An Israeli raid targeted a house in the town of Khiam, causing casualties whose number was not specified, in addition to its complete destruction."

It also reported "continuous (Israeli) artillery and phosphorous shelling of the towns of Aitaroun and Blida for more than 30 minutes."

It explained that "residential neighborhoods in Aitaroun were subjected to artillery shelling coming from Israeli enemy positions inside the occupied Palestinian territories, which used internationally banned phosphorus shells."

“Israeli warplanes also raided Tallet al-Ghazlan, in the village of Armati, in Jabal al-Rayhan, and also targeted the outskirts of Jabal Balat in the Marwahin district,” according to the agency.

Earlier Wednesday, the agency reported that “Israeli aircraft launched 18 raids on Jabal Balat and the outskirts of the towns of Ramiyah and Beit Lev in the central sector.”

It also launched "a series of raids on the outskirts of Ayta al-Shaab, and the forested area between the town and the town of Ramieh, and a fire broke out in the forests adjacent to the Blue Line separating Lebanon and Israel near Ramieh and Aita al-Shaab."

Earlier Wednesday, the Israeli army claimed that it attacked “within minutes” more than 20 Hezbollah targets in the Ramiya area, through air and artillery bombardment.

Meanwhile, the Hebrew Broadcasting Authority reported that the party fired dozens of missiles and drones into the Western Galilee region.

For decades, Israel has occupied Lebanese lands in the south.

For the seventh month in a row, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon exchange intermittent daily bombardment with the Israeli army across the “Blue Line.” It left hundreds dead and wounded, most of them in Lebanon.
