UNRWA warns of the continued cessation of the entry of aid through the Rafah crossing
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Tuesday of the continuing halt to the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt.
This came in a statement published by UNRWA on the “X” platform, coinciding with Israel’s announcement of its control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing.
It said, "The continued cessation of the entry of aid and fuel supplies at the Rafah crossing will halt the critical humanitarian response throughout the Gaza Strip."
It added: "The catastrophic hunger that people are facing, especially in northern Gaza, will get worse if these supply routes are cut off."
On Tuesday morning, Israel announced “complete operational control” of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing.
Other pictures also showed the Israeli flag being raised on poles inside the crossing.
