"Israel" confirms the killing of one of its prisoners in Gaza
The Israeli authorities announced, at dawn on Friday, that they had confirmed the death of Dror Or, a prisoner held by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip.
Officials at Kibbutz Be'eri, where Or lived, said the 49-year-old man was killed during the October 7 attack and his body was transported to the Gaza Strip.
Until this announcement, Orr was considered among the living prisoners being held in the Gaza Strip. During the attack, Or's wife, Yonat, was killed, and two of their three sons were captured.
Hamas released the two brothers, Noam (17 years old) and Alma (13 years old), as part of the truce that lasted for a week last November.
At dawn on Friday, the Israeli government said in a post on the X platform, “We are sad to announce that Dror Or, who was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, has been confirmed dead and that his body is being held in Gaza.”
The government did not explain in its post how it was certain of Orr's death.
