Mustafa: Reform is a popular and official demand and part of the government’s work program
Today, Thursday, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Mustafa discussed in his office in Ramallah, with a delegation from the Independent Commission for Human Rights (Board of Grievances), headed by the Director-General of the Commission, Ammar Al-Dweik, a number of issues of common interest, most notably the reform file.
The Prime Minister received a letter from the Independent Commission containing several proposals to enhance partnership and integration. The Prime Minister directed the Ministerial Committee for Reform and the Office of Institutional Development and Reform in the Prime Minister’s Office to study this message and cooperate with the Commission and other relevant institutions.
He stressed that reform is a popular and official demand, and represents one of the requirements for completing the national project, noting that comprehensive reform is part of the government’s action plan and its mandate message.
Mustafa said: “Partnership with all sectors, especially civil society, is among the government’s goals in institutionalizing reform and bringing about a real renaissance in the nation, especially in the sectors: health, education, rationalizing public spending, and empowering the judiciary.”
For its part, the Commission’s delegation welcomed the reform steps that the government recently approved and began implementing, and the directives to ministers and competent authorities to hold periodic meetings with civil society institutions to discuss common issues, in a way that serves the government’s programs, goals, and public interest.
The delegation stressed that the government's partnership and openness with civil society contribute to conveying citizens' concerns and meeting their needs, and enhancing confidence between all parties.
