While the Israeli occupation entity is awaiting the official response from Hamas to the new proposal regarding the prisoner and detainee exchange deal, senior Hamas official Suhail al-Hindi said on Wednesday that Hamas will provide a clear response “very soon.”

Al-Hindi did not provide any other details, but a source told the agency that the answer is expected to arrive from Hamas within a day or two.

According to a Hamas source, the occupation’s proposal includes real concessions, but the issue of complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip represents an obstacle.

Another senior Hamas official told Arab media that they still adhere to the demand of a permanent ceasefire as a basic condition.

Earlier, Hamas sources said that they had demanded the inclusion of the word “complete” in the issue of the occupation army’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, instead of “gradually.”
