International Justice issues its decision today in Nicaragua’s lawsuit against Germany regarding Gaza

The International Court of Justice, the highest judicial body in the United Nations, is scheduled to issue its decision, today, Tuesday, in a lawsuit filed by Nicaragua against Germany, accusing the latter of violating the 1948 Genocide Convention, by supplying Israel with weapons to bomb Gaza.

Nicaragua, the Central American country, had asked the International Court of Justice in The Hague to impose emergency measures so that Berlin would stop supplying weapons to Israel.

Nicaragua has criticized Germany for its support of Israel, considering that providing weapons to the Israeli government, while providing aid to Gaza at the same time, is "unfortunate and contemptible."

Nicaragua also requested 5 temporary measures, the most prominent of which is that “Germany immediately suspend its aid to Israel, especially military aid, including military equipment.”
