Continuous Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip areas, and Hamas is discussing a ceasefire proposal
On the 207th day of the Israeli war on Gaza, the Israeli army continued to bomb various areas of the Strip, especially the cities of Rafah and Khan Yunis, causing more deaths and injuries, raising the toll to 34,488 dead and 77,643 injured since October 7. First past.
Regarding the Rafah operation, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said - while he was in Riyadh - that in the absence of a plan not to harm civilians, Washington cannot support a major military operation in this city located in the far south of the Strip.
He expressed his hope that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) would make the right decision to support the ceasefire proposals, noting that the movement had in its hands a “very generous” proposal, and he hoped that it would take what he described as the correct decision quickly, as he put it.
As for the negotiations, Reuters reported - citing the Egyptian Cairo News Channel - that a Hamas delegation left Cairo, and that it would return again with a written response to a ceasefire proposal. Meanwhile, Haaretz newspaper said that an Israeli delegation will leave for the Egyptian capital on Tuesday, to hold discussions with Egyptian officials regarding Hamas’s demand for a complete ceasefire as part of an expected prisoner exchange deal.
