America and 17 countries call on Hamas to release the detainees
In a scene close to surrealism regarding the current situation in the Gaza Strip, the leaders of 18 countries issued a joint statement, calling on the Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” to immediately release all detainees in the Gaza Strip.
The text of the statement published by the White House on Thursday said: “The fate of the hostages and the civilian population in Gaza, who are protected under international law, raises international concern,” calling for “the immediate release of all hostages held by Hamas in Gaza for more than 200 days, including our citizens.”
According to the statement, the agreement on the table to release the hostages will lead to an immediate and long-term ceasefire in Gaza.
It is noteworthy that the countries that signed the statement are the United States, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Thailand and Britain.
Many believe that the countries' calls are illogical and ignore the actions of the Israeli occupation, which caused the death of more than 34,000 people and the injury of more than 77,000 people, in addition to the complete destruction of the Gaza Strip and the threat of committing a new genocide in the Gaza Strip.
