UN will launch an appeal to raise $2.8 billion for Gaza and the West Bank
The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in the Palestinian Territories, Andrea Di Domenico, announced that the United Nations will issue an appeal on Wednesday to raise $2.8 billion with the aim of helping the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank during 2024.
He said in a video press conference, today, Tuesday: “Tomorrow we will publish the appeal to donors until the end of the year. Together with humanitarian groups, we are asking for $2.8 billion to help three million people identified in the West Bank and Gaza.”
He added, "Certainly, 90% (of the amount) is allocated to Gaza," explaining that the humanitarian plan for 2024 was initially estimated at four billion dollars, but it was reduced to 2.8 billion dollars due to the difficulty of delivering humanitarian aid.
