The Israeli Army: Mobilizing the reserves aims to enable the possibility of operating in Rafah
The Israeli army said, on Monday, that the decision to recruit two brigades from the reserve forces aims to enable them to operate in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.
On Sunday, the Israeli army said in a written statement that Anatolia reached: “Based on an assessment of the situation, the army will recruit in the coming days about two brigades of reserve soldiers, in order to carry out operational tasks in the Gaza area.”
In this regard, Israeli Army Radio said: “In Israel, they are considering moving forward the date of the operation in Rafah,” without specifying the date.
It added, "The two reserve brigades that the Israeli army mobilized last night are Carmeli (2) and the 679th Armored Brigade."
I expected that "both of them will enter the center of the Strip, where one brigade will be present in the Netzarim Corridor (separating the northern and southern Gaza Strip), and another will secure the American pier located on the shores of Gaza."
It pointed out that "mobilizing reserves aims, among other things, to enable work in Rafah."
On Sunday evening, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to postpone the ground invasion of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, the day after an unprecedented Iranian retaliatory attack on Israel on Saturday evening.
Regional and international warnings are mounting about the repercussions of the possible Israeli invasion of Rafah, in light of the presence of about 1.4 million displaced people in the city, who were pushed there by the Israeli army claiming that it was safe and then later launched raids on it, resulting in deaths and injuries.
