Pentagon: The United States does not seek conflict with Iran
On Sunday morning, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin condemned the Iranian air attack against Israel.
Austin said in a statement: “We condemn these reckless and unprecedented attacks launched by Iran and its proxies, and we call on Tehran to immediately stop any further attacks.”
The American minister stressed by saying: “We do not seek a conflict with Iran, but we will not hesitate to take action to protect our forces and support the defense of Israel.”
Austin pointed out that "American forces intercepted dozens of missiles and drones on their way to Israel, which were launched from Iran, Iraq, Syria and Yemen."
He added: "We seek to protect our forces and partners in the region, provide more support to defend Israel, and enhance regional stability."
Austin concluded by saying that he would "continue to monitor the situation 'closely' and consult with allies and partners."
Iranian state television said on Saturday evening that the Revolutionary Guard had begun an air operation with drones and missiles against targets in Israel.
At dawn on Sunday, the Home Front Command of the Israeli army announced, through a statement, the end of the Iranian response, considering that “there is no longer a need to take shelter in shelters throughout the country.”
