The founder of "World Central Kitchen" questions the Israeli investigation into the killing of the aid team: a war against humanity

On Sunday, the founder of World Central Kitchen, Jose Andres, questioned the Israeli investigation into the strike that killed seven workers in his organization in Gaza, and warned that the war on the Strip had turned into a “war against humanity itself.”

In a statement to ABC, the head of the relief organization based in the United States said: “I would like to thank the Israeli army for conducting this rapid investigation,” but he added that “at the same time, I say that in the face of a very complex matter, it must be "The investigation is more in-depth."

He continued: "I say that the perpetrator cannot investigate himself."

The Israeli army stressed that the strike carried out by its forces on Monday, in which aid workers belonging to the "World Central Kitchen" organization were killed in Gaza, was a "grave mistake."

Three Britons, a Canadian-American, a Polish, and an Australian were killed in the strike, and a Palestinian was martyred, after their convoy, whose route had been informed to the Israeli occupation army, was targeted by three raids.

When asked about the Israeli report, Andres cast doubt on the story, adding, “It is no longer about the seven World Central Kitchen relief workers who died in this unfortunate incident.”

He stated that Israel targets everything that “appears” to be moving, and that it has been doing so “for a very long time.”

“This does not look like a war against terrorism,” he said. “This no longer seems like a war about defending Israel,” adding, “At this point, it really looks like a war against humanity itself.”

Andres described providing new paths to bring aid into Gaza as a "first step" and said that he supports Israel's right to defend itself, but he wondered why the United States would arm a country that "kills American citizens who are humanitarian activists."

"We need more information. We need better quality video recordings," he said, asking, "What was the content of the communication, the radio communication between the various officers and soldiers involved?"

He added, "The perpetrator cannot investigate himself."

Describing the killing of aid workers as “unforgivable,” he compared the devastation in Gaza to the devastation in Ukraine.

He said: “I saw what was happening in Ukraine, entire towns and cities being wiped out by Russia and (Russian President Vladimir) Putin. What Prime Minister Netanyahu is doing is exactly the same thing.”
