Netanyahu: Hamas seeks to escalate the situation during Ramadan
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is seeking to escalate the situation during the holy month of Ramadan.
Netanyahu added, on Saturday, that Hamas adheres to its position of unwillingness to reach an agreement regarding the war in the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that contacts and talks with mediators are still continuing, in an attempt to reduce the gaps.
On the other hand, Netanyahu sent a strongly worded message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in which he said: “Tel Aviv, which adheres to the laws of war, will not receive moral advice from Erdogan.”
During his speech in Istanbul, Erdogan affirmed his “firm” support for the leaders of Hamas in its war against Israel in the Gaza Strip, which has been going on for more than five months.
Erdogan said: "No one can push us to classify Hamas as a terrorist organization. Turkey is the country that speaks openly with Hamas leaders and stands firmly behind them."
