West Bank: Israel has arrested 7,305 citizens since October 7th
The Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Authority and the Prisoners' Club said that the number of arrests rose after the seventh of last October to more than 7,305.
They explained, in a statement issued by them on Wednesday, that these arrests include those who were arrested from homes, through military checkpoints, those who were forced to surrender themselves under pressure, and those who were held hostage.
They added that Israel carried out widespread raids and harassment in governorates, towns, and camps, which were accompanied by severe beatings and threats against detainees and their families, in addition to field investigations of dozens of citizens, in addition to sabotage and destruction of citizens’ homes, and the seizure of money and vehicles.
From yesterday evening until Wednesday morning, the Israeli occupation forces launched a massive arrest campaign that targeted at least 35 citizens from the West Bank, including children and former prisoners.
The arrests were concentrated in the city of Yatta, south of Hebron, while the rest of the arrests were distributed among the governorates of: Bethlehem, Jenin, Ramallah, and Jerusalem.
Israeli forces continue to implement systematic arrest campaigns, as one of the most prominent established policies that escalated in an unprecedented manner after October 7, not only in terms of the level of the number of detainees, but also in terms of the level of crimes committed.
