West Bank Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons increased to 5,630 prisoners

The number of Palestinians detained from the West Bank in Israeli prisons since October 7 has risen to 5,630, after 30 people were arrested in various parts.

This came according to a joint statement issued by the Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners’ Affairs of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club.

The two institutions said in the statement that the Israeli authorities “arrested 30 citizens on Thursday, which brings the number of detainees in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, to about 5,630 Palestinians since last October 7.”

According to the statement, today's arrests (Thursday) were concentrated in the Ramallah governorate, while the rest of the arrests were distributed in the governorates of Tulkarm, Tubas, Nablus, Jenin, Hebron, and Bethlehem.

The statement indicated that since Wednesday dawn, the Israeli army has continued its operations in the city of Tulkarm, arresting dozens and interrogating them on the ground, while it was not possible to know the number of detainees in the city and its camps.

This tally does not include arrests carried out by Israeli forces inside the Gaza Strip, according to the same source.
