Washington denies its involvement in the “Kerman bombings” in Iran, and Israel refuses to comment
The US State Department said, on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, that the United States was not involved in the terrorist attack that occurred in the Iranian province of Kerman, which resulted in the death of 103 and the injury of 211 others, while the spokesman for the Israeli occupation army, Daniel Hagari, refused to comment on whether Tel Aviv has a relationship with it.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Iranian government declared one day of mourning in the country for the victims of the double attack that occurred in Kerman province, which led to the death of 103 people and the wounding of 211 others, according to Iranian media.
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller explained in a press statement on Wednesday that the United States "is not involved in this in any way, and the allegations to the contrary are ridiculous."
He also added: “We have no reason to believe that Israel was involved in this attack,” and Miller expressed his condolences to the Iranians who were victims of the terrorist attacks.
In the same context, the spokesman for the Israeli occupation army, Daniel Hagari, refused to comment on the two bombings.
During a press conference held by Hagari, a journalist asked him: “What is the Israeli army’s assessment of the expected reaction from Lebanon after the assassination of (Saleh Al-Arouri)? And a second question: Can you officially say that Israel has nothing to do with the bombings that occurred today in Iran?”
Hagari said: “I will not comment on this. I can say that we are focused on fighting Hamas, and there are clear goals for this war that must be achieved, and we will continue to work to achieve them.”
He also added: “There are challenges in the fighting in the north as well, and in the actions carried out by Hezbollah. There were some of them today as well, and we thwarted them on the northern border, and there are some in other areas that we face, such as the Red Sea or from Syria, as we faced yesterday,” referring to Israeli raids targeted areas in the Damascus countryside, causing material damage.
