Hebrew "walla": US delegation arrives in Israel today to discuss the "day after" Gaza war
The Hebrew Walla website reported on Monday that an American delegation from the White House is arriving in Israel today to discuss the “day after” the war in the Gaza Strip.
The website noted that the American delegation is headed by Phil Gordon, National Security Advisor to Vice President Kamala Harris.
The American delegation is scheduled to meet with the Israeli National Security Advisor and the Minister of Strategic Affairs in the Israeli government.
The Hebrew website said that American officials will meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.
Efforts and endeavors are intensifying to reduce the escalation and cease fire in Gaza, with the Israeli forces resuming their military operations in the entire Strip last Friday, after 7 days of a truce, which included an exchange of prisoners between Tel Aviv and the Hamas movement.
In this context, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that he held talks with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani about ongoing efforts to facilitate the safe return of all hostages and increase levels of aid to civilians in Gaza.
On the other hand, a diplomatic source in Ankara told a Novosti correspondent that the contact group for resolving the situation in Gaza will visit the United States this week to conduct negotiations with the American administration.
The aforementioned contact group, composed of the foreign ministers of Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, was formed following the summits of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the League of Arab States in Riyadh. Earlier, the group held negotiations in Beijing, Moscow, London and Paris.
