President Abbas receives the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court
Today, Saturday, at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah, President Mahmoud Abbas received the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan.
President Abbas briefed the Attorney General on the overall developments on the Palestinian scene, especially in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression against our people, the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing that it continues to commit in the Gaza Strip, and its continuing violations in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
President Abbas called for accelerating the investigations and prosecution of Israeli war criminals in “war crimes” committed by Israel in the Palestinian territories, by targeting civilians, especially children, women and the elderly, desecrating the sanctity of hospitals and shelter centers and demolishing homes on top of their residents, as well as the ongoing colonial settlement and annexation of lands, and crimes of ethnic cleansing, "Apartheid", and the killings, forced displacement, arrests, attacks, and violations of international law and international humanitarian law committed by the occupation forces and terrorist settlers.
He explained that the absence of punishment means encouraging the Israeli occupation to continue committing its crimes against our people, who have been suffering for 75 years from injustice, oppression, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing.
He also called for a complete halt to the Israeli aggression, in order to spare civilians from the scourge of bombing, killing, and destruction carried out by the Israeli killing machine, and to double the provision of humanitarian aid, and provide water, electricity, and fuel.
The President reiterated his rejection and prevention of forced displacement of the Palestinian people, whether in the Gaza Strip or in the West Bank, including Jerusalem.
