Israel has dropped 40,000 tons of explosives on Gaza since the start of war

The government media office in the Gaza Strip said on Sunday that the Israeli occupation army has dropped 40,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip since October 7.

This came according to a statement by the head of the media office, Salama Maarouf, via the Telegram platform, on the third day of the temporary humanitarian truce between Israel and the Hamas movement, which entered into force on Friday morning.

Marouf explained that the bombs dropped by the occupation recently had not been used before, and hundreds of dead were buried in the places of bombing, and the destruction left by the occupation reflects its desire to make Gaza uninhabitable.

Regarding the temporary truce, Marouf pointed out that the days of truce revealed the scale of the large massacre, which left great destruction in infrastructure and homes. He added that a third of the population of the Gaza Strip did not obtain basic supplies, all international institutions were absent, and the Gaza Strip needed to establish a large field hospital.

Regarding the situation in Al-Shifa Hospital (west of Gaza City), Marouf said that it lacks all capabilities and has become unusable, and that the occupation’s claims about it are “foolishness for the media.”

Eyewitnesses and local sources reported that the army blew up the hospital's electricity generators and medical equipment, including x-ray machines, in addition to oxygen pumps, before withdrawing from it last Friday, about 10 days after storming it and destroying parts of it.

On November 24, the humanitarian truce between Israel and the Palestinian factions entered into force and will continue for 4 days, subject to extension, under Qatari, Egyptian and American sponsorship. The agreement includes the release of 50 Israeli prisoners from Gaza, in exchange for the release of 150 Palestinian prisoners from Israeli prisons, in addition to... Hundreds of trucks loaded with aid and fuel were brought into all areas of the Strip.

For 48 days until November 23, the Israeli army launched a devastating war on Gaza that left 14,854 Palestinian dead, including 6,150 children and more than 4,000 women, and more than 36,000 wounded.

While Hamas killed 1,200 Israelis, wounded 5,431, and captured about 239, it began exchanging them with Israel, which has more than 7,000 Palestinian prisoners in its prisons.
