Palestine Premier receives German Foreign Minister
Today, Saturday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to take a position consistent with international humanitarian law regarding the war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
This came during Shtayyeh’s reception with Minister Baerbock, in his office in Ramallah, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Amal Jado, and the German Representative to Palestine, Oliver Ovtscha.
The Prime Minister said that not calling for an end to the war is an encouragement for Israel to continue its aggression against our people in Gaza, considering that Israel’s war is against the Palestinian people in all its lands.
He added, "Targeting hospitals is a war crime that cannot be tolerated. It must be condemned by every country and international institution. Immediate measures must be taken to stop it, provide protection for civilians, and stop collective punishment."
The Prime Minister called on Germany to take serious measures against settlement and settler terrorism in the West Bank, since Germany considers settlement illegal.
Shtayyeh said, "Our priority today is a ceasefire, delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and stopping terrorist settlers' attacks on our people in the West Bank."
The meeting was attended by a number of citizens with martyrs’ families who rose during the current aggression in the Gaza Strip.
